I was a Merchandiser, however after marriage I decided to quit my carrier. But realised that I was not a housewife type. During that period Fortunately a good friend of ours in London, contacted us to the Officials of CCUK ,to distribute in Sri Lanka. Having seen my unsuccessful act as a housewife Dimuth encourage with to kick start the business. So there it was, we ventured in Forming the British Cosmetics Brand in Sri Lanka. Consequently I found every thing that I was looking for.

I am constantly seeking to connect the world’s beauty trends to the local market. This initiated from the very beginning of introducing a colour cosmetics that has the widest range of make-up port folio in Sri Lanka. So far I have made benchmarks in nail technology, hair trends which as become a hit in the industry and the latest introduction of lash extension has become a super hit.
Who has been your biggest support in making this a reality?
Dimuth, my husband has been my biggest supporter and my mentor right throughout. His financial vision and my in-depth professional qualification has blended so well in bring this brand to what it is today.

It is sad to know that Beauticians are categorised as the lowest standard professionals in terms of education and supports. Which is very serious in time to come, sustainability of the industry will be a issue in the future. The standards should be streamlined, Qualifications should be elevated to compete the international.

One of the most defining moments in my life would have to be raising two wonderful girls. Also in my career, acquiring the UK skin care brand Prevense was one of the greatest achievements I have come across.

Most definitely this country. There won’t be any country that I choose other than Sri Lanka.
If You only get 3 words to describe yourself – what are they?
Simple, friendly and passionate.
If you have to handle a client who is a JERK,
What would you do?
A jerk has to be dealt in their own language. Despite, the fact that the customer is always the king, you need to set your facts clear that these type of customers will never be satisfied.
If you had the power to read someone’s mind, whose would it be in SL?
First thing that came to my mind was a politician. Wonder what goes in their head as they are so unpredictable.
In the Spot?
What are your thoughts on Yahapalanaya?
Same scenario in a difference perspective of what was then repeats now.
What is your opinion on the many pageants in our country?
There has to be a standard benchmark across all pageants until the international pageant is completed. I think biggest concentration to the pageant should be given not at the local stage soon after the winner is chosen. The title holder should be groomed to the specific international pageant . This should be considered as a social responsibility not a money earning or media attraction. The organisers should be sincere to deliver the best of the of the local winner. It is sad when there are so many intelligent & great looking girls out there but non are confident in our pageants.
What are your thoughts on PRIDE week in Sri Lanka?
It is hard to change the sequence on a conventional back ground over night, But the show must go on.
